Choreographer Lucinda Childs, the queen of minimal dance, turns 85 in 2025. Introdans and the National Youth Orchestra (NJO) celebrate her with Icoon, a tribute to this ‘grand old lady’ of American dance.
The evening takes you on a journey from Interior Drama through Kilar, Petricor, and Concerto, to the world premiere of Notes of Longing. Childs’ abstract, almost mathematical movement language transforms simple ballet and athletic motions into complex masterpieces. No other company performs her work as extensively as Introdans, highlighting their unique bond with Icoon.
The choreographies Kilar, Petricor, and Concerto will be performed live by the National Youth Orchestra (NJO) under conductor Jurjen Hempel, while Notes of Longing will be accompanied live by composer and pianist Matteo Myderwyk.
